During the 2006/2007 school year, by request from the Ombudsman, we worked on the elaboration of a space that would be included in the web by the title of “The Ombudsman in your Class’. In it, resources are provided for teachers and students who wish to expand their knowledge on human rights and the role of the Ombudsman.
The objective of this web site is to make the institution of the Ombudsman known among teachers and students and to deepen their knowledge on Human Rights while providing useful tools to approach it in the classroom.
The introduction to these issues in Secondary Education is included within the subject of “Education for Citizenship” which includes contents related, directly or indirectly, to Human Rights and the institutions in charge of their protection and defence.

For this, the web is divided into three main sections:
Ombudsman: In this section the institution is made known, as well as the concept of Ombudsman, his roles and responsibilities, etc.
Human rights: What are human rights and how are they born? What’s the United Nations?
With this web we aim to provide a useful tool for the dissemination and teaching of the essential values to configure a respectful and active society in the defence and promotion of Human Rights. We hope it may soon become an active space where interested teachers and students may contribute their own ideas on the issue.
